The wonderful folks at KuppingerCole gave me a chance to share some thoughts on the challenges we face with digital consent at this year’s European Identity and Cloud Conference in Berlin. If you’re a KC subscriber, you can view the keynote and download the slides – or just drop me a note using my contact form and I’ll send you the deck.

The premise: Consent Is Dead! Is it that bad? Well, it’s pretty bad. Traditional consent mechanisms have proven their inadequacy, and data monetization is currently too powerful a force to allow individual autonomy to flourish. I’ll be writing more about the challenge and its potential solutions soon.

In the identity community, luckily, the dialogue always continues. Mike Schwartz of Gluu invited me to explore the topic further in his Identerati Office Hours livestream on July 25. Join us – and prepare to contribute by completing Mike’s assigned homework if you dare! – by visiting the event wiki. See you there!
